14.02.2011 - 2011 Essex County Competition Draws
The draws for the Essex Golf Union run competitions have been made, with Ilford being given some tough matches.
Last years Leslie Woods semi finalists will start their tournament with an away draw to much fancied Thorndon Park on Easter Sunday (24th April).
The Thornton Cup side also have an away tie against Forrester Park on Sunday 1st May whilst the Seniors have been drawn at home to Burnham on Crouch.
The Norman Plum team have been drawn to play Boyce Hill.
Representing Ilford in the Alan Lockwood Trophy we have the 2010 Captains Prize Champion, Eric Mooney up against James Anderson from West Essex. Jeff Ball, also representing Ilford Golf Club has received a bye through to the 2nd round.

The final round has been completed and the victorious pair were Ron Fardell and Reg Lesurf with 133 points
Ilford Golf Club's Leslie Woods team were narrowly defeated in the first round of the Essex Golf Union run competition yesterday, losing 9-6 away at Thorndon Park Golf Club.
Thursday evening saw Ilford Golf Club Captain, Jim Gallagher, open the much anticipated new par 4 4th hole.
Ilford Golf Club's Essex Seniors team overcame Burnham on Crouch on Monday in the first round of the county competition.
The Norman Plum team, captained by Andy Gray, were knocked out at the first hurdle on Saturday.
